Kim Swanson, CSA
Casting Director

After working in theatre as a dancer/singer/actress (including shows such as "A Chorus Line", and "George M!"), as well as various commercials and a couple of parts in film, Kim Swanson gave up performing so she could devote her life to raising her children. In an effort to find an outlet for the creative background, she has taught dance over 4 decades, producing a multitude of professional dancers throughout the world. She began casting twenty years ago, and the first three commercial projects she cast won Emmy Awards.

As a Casting Director, Swanson has cast more than 500 national commercials (including dozens of national toy commercials), several feature films, (including GUA SHA, which won Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress in Beijing, China), and a multitude of industrial projects, print projects, and of course, television episodes.  She has conducted talent searches for Disney, recently cast 27 episodes of MY HAUNTED HOUSE, airing on LMN and is currently casting a new show for LMN (Battle of the Sexes – wt) as well as an animated feature film, set for world-wide distribution.  In the past 12 months, she has put nearly 650 actors to work.

She has been a member of the National Board of Directors of CSA (Casting Society of America) for four years, where she is the Chairperson of the Regional Casting Committee, and is on the Workshop Committee, the Artios Committee, the Activities Committee and the Education Committee.  She is also a member of the Television Academy.  She continues her career in casting, as well as choreography for films and commercial work in the Midwest, as well as Los Angeles.  She is thrilled to be able to say that she was the first to employ many working actors who are now highly recognizable talent!

Kim Swanson currently has a Youtube Channel (Kim Swanson – The Casting Factor), offering hours of helpful advice for actors, as well as a Facebook page (The Casting Factor), sharing industry news and helpful audition hints.
