Effective Date: December 7, 2017
We believe it is important for parents to monitor and understand their children’s online activities and use of mobile applications. This guide provides information about the Scenebot app/website to help you understand how they work, and provides a few resources that may be useful as you consider issues related to Internet safety and online privacy. Please see our Privacy Policy for additional information about our collection, use and disclosure of information.
Scenebot is a digital platform that empowers actors to showcase their abilities and “get scene” by top entertainment industry professionals, such as agents, managers and casting directors.
Scenebot opens the door for actors to demonstrate their skills to some of the most influential decision makers in the entertainment industry. Scenebot operates as an acting showcase, where actors can submit one audition per month to be reviewed by Scenebot’s staff of casting professionals. The top selected monthly auditions will be posted to the website and app for all members and industry professionals to view and “Like.” If an agent, manager or casting director is interested in a particular actor, they will have the ability to contact the actor or the actor’s parents through their profile.
Yes, we do allow children to use the Scenebot app/website if they have their parents’ permission and the parent registers the child to use the app/website. If we receive notification from a child’s parent or guardian that the child is under 13 and that such parent didn’t provide permission for their child to use the app/website, or receive a request to delete a child’s account and information from the child’s parent or guardian, we will remove that child’s information from our system.
A user’s profile will always be available to SceneBot, Inc. (including its officers and employees).
If a user is under the age of 13, his/her actor profile will also be available to his/her parent or legal guardian who created the child’s account.
User generated content (e.g., videos) and certain information from your child’s profile may be posted online for public view and/or on the website and app for other registered users to view. For example, if you or your child’s user generated content is selected by Scenebot in connection with a monthly competition, it could be posted on the website and app for other registered users of the website and app to view; the content may be posted along with you or your child’s first name, last name initial, and city/state.
If your child’s user generated content is chosen to be shown on the website and app, and/or you have upgraded to a PRO Account, your child’s actor profile will also be available to industry professionals (e.g., casting directors, agents, and talent managers), including those listed on our “who’s who” page. The disclosure of such information to these individuals/entities is consistent with industry standard practice for actors seeking representation as a professional actor.
We may also disclose certain personally identifiable information and post certain user generated content on the website and app and other websites (including social media websites) for viewing by registered users when sharing success stories about SceneBot users. We may display your or your child’s first name, last name initial, and city/state in connection with the posting of user generated content.
If your child’s user generated content is chosen to be shown on the website and app, and/or you have upgraded to a PRO Account, your child’s actor profile may also be available to industry professionals (e.g., casting directors, agents, and talent managers), including those listed on our “who’s who” page, and those individuals may communicate with you or your child.
All inquiries regarding the child for the purpose of an audition or representation will be directed to the contact information provided during registration.
If you are a parent/guardian and do not want us to make any further collection or use of your child’s personally identifiable information, you can delete your child’s account. If you delete your child’s account, we will delete your child’s personally identifiable information from our records and will not make any further use of such information.
You may delete the account via the User Account screen.
We want Scenebot to provide a safe and welcoming environment, and thus encourage users to notify us at abuse@scenebot.com if others are acting inappropriately (e.g., bullying or harassing users) or otherwise violating our Terms of Service.
Below are some resources that may help you understand Internet safety and online privacy issues. We encourage you to discuss these issues with your child.
